still boggles my mind

Fly Away Home is the movie we watched for family night last night.  A great movie for the family and very educational if you don't know much about geese.  I asked the boys what they learned from the movie and Brett replied, "I learned that little kids can do big things!"

I always tell them that God has big plans for their lives and we pray that we will be sensitive to creative ideas the Lord puts on our hearts so I was happy to see that Brett replied this way.

Anywhoo....why I'm posting.....
Kate sat in my lap most of the movie, upside down with her leg in my cheek half the time, her little panties so stinkin' cute on her rump.  At one point she was bouncing on my legs and I had to tilt my head to see around her long, crazy hair.  I said, "can you guys believe we have a little girl with hair half way down her back!"  None of us can believe it.  She is two so we might should be accustomed to the idea but it still blows my mind.  After so many 100% boys.....I'm thankful God decided we needed a girl.

It's just so different.  Those of you with boys know how much stuff you can accumulate but after a girl...the stuff is so very different.  There are cups with flowers and princesses, pink panties, ponytail holders everywhere, high heel dress up shoes, dolls, dolls and more dolls...all naked here, flowers and butterflies and girly things everywhere! Even her Bible is pink.......there is such a new flavor to our home with Miss Kate in the mix and we love it.

She often makes her own tea party.....as girly as she is...she is in the habit of pulling out her bows!

This morning Kate and I shared a piece of toast coated in Nutella (yummy by the way) and I asked her who made her beautiful, she said, "God" and I told her she was God's little princess.  She touched my chin and said, "Momma princess too!"  We talked about and thanked God for healing her little finger where she had stitches.  You can't really even tell it was there except for the scar tissue you can feel.

It's such a joy to have enjoyable children and I'm thankful God put it on my heart to be with them.  I'm thankful God ordained our family in the order he gave us our children.  Each one is different in their own way and bring unique perspectives to our family.  I'm excited how God will use each one in their, taking advantage of the personalities he blessed them with and the different bents in each of their hearts.

Hi I've popped over from Stacies blog :) I know what it's like to have a girl in the house after boys. We had 4 boys and then God blessed us with not one but two girls! Our house is now full of pink!! I love it :) I love my boys and am so grateful for them and wouldn't swap them for anything but I'm glad to have girls too.
